I'm on the fence on this one also. I smoked for 20 years and have now been a non-smoker for almost 10. As a non-smoker, I really like having the choice of going to smoke-free restaurants, but I'm not convinced that smokes shouldn't also have that same choice of going to restaurants where they are allowed. It's a matter of of options. Where I DO have the problem is when we aren't even given the option.

Thanks for the info, Heather.

I have strong mixed feelings about this. While I am wildly delighted to be able to dine at any restaurant in smoke-free Illinois, I can't help but think it comes with a reduction in the freedom of the business owner to choose what kind of business he or she wants to run. This one's a tough call for me.

Good Morning -

Wanted to make sure everybody in the County knew there is going to be a chance to vote on a smoking ban. There are some exemptions (which has some people upset) but, personally, I feel this is a start and better than we have now. Below is a link to an article with some more info.
