If "The Monument Men" is the only book I read in this meetup, my experience will be more than worth-while. As a veterans volunteer I learned how key brave men preserved civilization. There was also a Saint Louis connection. One of the Monument Men, Walker Hancock, was a Saint Louis sculptor of note who designed the 1939 Saint Louis War Memorial Sculpture, as well as the Air Medal awarded to pilots of the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. This is especially meangful to me because I am a veteran of the Marine Air Wing. Semper Fi.
