Derby Day is a week away. Join us for a bit of the pre-race TV coverage and the race itself. Post time is approximately 5:20 CST. Bring a snack or a drink; we'll be grilling some dogs. Plus, we'll have something (TBD) to celebrate a couple of book club birthdays.

I will also attempt to make the classic mint julep with the "official" bourbon of the Derby (Woodford Reserve), though if you like more mint in your bourbon than that calls for, that's OK, too. We will also, of course, have non-alcoholic drinks. **Shopped around but couldn't find Woodford Reserve at the liquor stores around here. So I'll be substituting Evan Williams instead.**

The post-game celebration will be short (say, to 7:00 or 8:00), so you'll still have time to head out for more Derby Day delights in the evening hours.
